Amelia Island Trip - Day ONE - June 14th

Talk about an early day!  We started our trip to Amelia Island, Florida by waking up at 3:20AM!  We had to make sure we were to Milwaukee in time to board our flight that left at 7:05AM.  The kids mostly napped on the drive to Milwaukee, but it was a bit hard for them to stay calm as it was their first airplane trip!
We parked our car and took the shuttle in, checked our bags and got our boarding passes, then we found our gate.   The kids were so excited about everything they were seeing at the airport.

Both kids enjoyed an apple juice on the plane:
Drinking apple juice high in the sky!
We also got some Delta biscottis!
We arrived in Atlanta and found some bagels for breakfast.  As we were waiting for our next plane the kids read some books:

 Too adorable!
More apple juice!  This time they got some pretzels!

We arrived in Jacksonville, Florida by 1:30 (Now in Eastern Time) and picked up our rental car.  We headed north for a quick 40 minute drive to our condo on Amelia Island.

Both kids were a bit wiped out from the early wake up time!  :)

Once you cross the bridge over the Amelia River you enter Amelia Island!
We rented Villa 1A at Amelia Landings:

We stopped off at our condo to check it out and unpack our luggage.  We weren't there long before we left to explore.  The first stop - the Atlantic Ocean!

Walking up to the ocean:
 Checking it out:
 Look out for waves, Nate!

 Jumping waves:
 Look at Nate's height!
 Weeeee!

We did a bit more driving around to see where things were.  We decided on local seafood for our first dinner on Amelia Island.  We went to Cedar River Seafood, which was only about two blocks away from our condo.
Mads and Nate both jumped right into some shrimp, which came with fries and hush puppies.  Nate was a HUGE fan of the hush puppies and talked about them the entire trip!

After dinner it was back to the condo for bed.  With such an early wake up, and so much fun to come we figured the kids needed to get some sleep in!  :)
