The finished product!

Greetings from Milwaukee! I am in my first week of training for my new Respiratory Therapist position with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Yes, I will be working in Neenah, but since the RT department is brand new there we are being sent to Milwaukee for our first bits of training. I am really chomping at the bit to start working with the patients, but we have to complete the paperwork and computer work first. It's crazy, I'm in a new employee group consisting of 11 RTs and ALL of them except for me are new grads! I can't believe that it's already been three years since I was a new grad!
Before I left for Milwaukee on Sunday I took pictures of our house. We were able to complete all of the unpacking and hanging of wall decor. It's so nice to be done with the moving!!
Without further ado... pictures of the Finished Product! :)

Back to "normal" life?

I say back to "normal" life in parenthesis because I'm still not back to work. This is my last week of vacation in which I need to finish up with all the unpacking and tie up the loose ends around the house. Leaving things undone wouldn't be a big deal, but the first three weeks of my new job are in Milwaukee for training. After our vacation and going home to Monroe for Kim's graduation I was pretty pooped. I was able to sleep in a bit yesterday and am feeling pretty rested. Yesterday I worked on paying the mound of bills that had accumulated while we were in Florida (of course I will tell you about that, but later!). Today I finished unpacking and putting away all the boxes that had been shoved in the spare bedroom. Now all that we have left is the knick-knacks and wall decor. Oh, and the garage... but that's not my project. ;) I think we should be able to wrap all of that up by Sunday.

Congratulations Kimmers!

So, how was vacation you ask?? Wonderful. We got into Orlando on Friday afternoon, got our rental car and made our way to our time share that we were staying at. We simply relaxed on Friday night and made a game plan for the following week. Saturday we went to Animal Kingdom where we rode Mt. Everest and narrowly escaped the Yeti.
Sunday was MGM Studios. We took the backlot tour, and if any of you have been to MGM and taken the tour anywhere between 1990 and since you've seen the Golden Girls house. Well... I am here to tell you that the house is no longer there!! They took it down to put up the Extreme Stunt Show. I have to say that the stunt show was pretty cool, but was it really necessary to take down Sophia, Rose, Blanche, and Dorothy's house?? I'm still sad.
Monday was Memorial Day and we we to the Magic Kingdom. We got into the park right away at 9AM when they opened and sped over to Space Mountain. We were able to get right on, walk around and get on again. We went on Space Mountain THREE times in a row. Andrew was very excited about this as Space Mtn was closed the last time he went to Disney in 1992.
Tuesday and Wednesday were Epcot days. We were home early on Tuesday afternoon as we had eaten Fish and Chips in the United Kingdom of the World Showcase and it didn't sit so well with Andrew's tummy. We then finished up what we missed on Wednesday. Let me tell you a bit about these "simulator" rides they have. Mission:Space and Soarin'. Could be really great rides but they made me SO nauseous. I'm thinking it's because the technology is better now and more realistic. In Mission:Space the simulator screen was right in your face and I think that's what threw me off. As Dr. Josephs says.. Your eyes are getting cues that you should be moving, but your body tells you you're not, and that's where the problem comes in. I'm so glad I know! :)
Thursday was for park hopping. We had picked up a collar for Lily in Animal Kingdom on Monday and my mom's dog decided she wanted one too, so we went back to AK to pick it up for her. Then we did more shopping in Downtown Disney where we made our own Light Sabers! Andrew was upset that we were going to miss the Star Wars weekends in June since we were leaving on the First. These weekends were going to have make your own lightsabers as well as some of the stars from the movies. Luckily, there was a store in Downtown Disney where we could make our own Lightsabers!! Whew!
Friday we checked out of the time share, returned the rental car and got back to Green Bay by 4PM. We were safe at home in Oshkosh by 5:00.
The next day we went to Monroe for Kim's graduation party and then her ceremony was on Sunday. Congrats Kim!! You made it... can you believe it?? (What I can't believe is that I graduated 7 years ago!)
So, that's what's been going on in our lives. Thanks for catching up with us. Here are some pictures of the last two weeks! ENJOY!
