The Sway

Another uneventful week at the Josephs household, just working the week away to get to the fun weekend! :)

Wednesday was a nice day, though, as I had the day off and Mads and I ran some errands and then went to Ripon to have lunch with Dad. We love going to lunch with dad!! Before we went to Ripon we stopped by Target. I snagged a Starbucks and I knew Mads was going to want to use my straw, as straws are VERY cool right now! I didn't want her to have the caffeine in my drink, so I picked up a juice box and thought we'd give it a try. Well, it was a success! The juice box was pretty much the coolest thing ever, next to the Zoo Sippy cup, of course.

On Friday we left for Monroe once Andrew was done with work. It was Balloon Rally weekend there and we were hoping to have Mads see some balloons. We went over to Grandma Lucy's on Friday night, but unfortunately the balloons didn't do the Night Lite since there were storms in the area. We did have a nice picnic dinner, in the house, complete with Root Beer floats. Mads was pretty excited about the floats and the ice cream!

Saturday we went to have coffee with Grandma Lucy at Chocolate Temptation. Mads loves to sneak some of Dad's whipped cream from his drink when we're there!

We then walked back to Grandma Lucy's house and then from there went to the Fairgrounds to check out the "Craft Show." Yeah, two booths really don’t make up a craft show in my mind! :) We went back to Mom's house, had lunch and then Mads napped. After her nap we went to the pool for some fun in the water!! Mads was such a big girl, her lessons have really paid off. She's not afraid of the water AT ALL! She wanted to do the baby pool all by herself, no help! Dad did help her on the duck slide, though!
Running off to the pool!

Excuse her crazy hair, she had just woken up from a nap! :)

Remember her last year in the baby pool?

After the baby pool we headed to the big pool and did some swimming there. We were at the pool for about an hour with Mads loving every second, even with her shivering lip!

Look at that kicking action!!

Saturday night we were able to go back over to Grandma Lucy's to see some balloons. Mads wasn't as impressed as I hoped she would be. She was too happy playing with Aunt Kimmy and my old toys that she could've cared less about the balloons!
What a pretty girl!!

Sunday was Father's Day and we went to the annual Father's Day picnic at my dad's house. It was a nice day and Mads was able to play with her cousin, Gavin. Sarah has a cute picture of Mads and Gavin (with me in the background) on their blog! Wouldn't you know that I'm the worst mother/wife in the whole world and didn't get a picture of Mads with Andrew all day? :( I did get one of Mads and Grandpa Jeff, though! Sorry Andrew!

All in all, we had a very fun weekend in Monroe! Now we're back in Oshkosh trying not to melt in this crazy heat! I'm not complaining, though, I'll take it over icy roads and -20 degree wind chills!

I have lots of random pictures from this week as well. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

I LOVE CHEESE!

Big girls can use the handrails!

Aunt Kimmy captured this extreme close-up!

A Girls Weekend!

Not much happened last week in comparison to the weekend. Mads and I had a girls weekend and it was jam packed with fun! Dad left on Friday afternoon to head off to Merrimac for a weekend of camping with Grandpa Jeff and the Straight Shooters. They were gone until later Sunday afternoon. Friday was the exception to our fun rule, we cleaned the house. It wasn't fun, but your work has to be done before you can play! :)
Saturday morning we headed down to Madison where we met Gramma J and Grandpa Thom at Ella's Deli for lunch. Mads showed off her new Cheerio eating technique... get your finger wet, stick the cheerio on and then get it in your mouth! :)

When we were done eating Gramma took Mads for a ride on the carousel. Mads had a BLAST! Look how happy she is in these pictures!!

After lunch we went to the Henry Vilas Zoo. Mads was so interactive with the animals. If you pointed one out to her she'd point at it or wave. Her favorites were the seals and the buffalo. Those two exhibits got a big "BUH-BYE!" when we walked away. The other ones weren't as memorable, I guess!

Then we had some fun at the souvenir shop. What do you think? :)

We also took a spin on the little train in the children's area. It was a bit cramped for Gramms and I, but Mads had fun looking out at some of the animals and the scenery.

Poor Mads was so bushed after her fun day at the zoo that she slept the whole way home!

Later on Saturday night Mads and I headed over to Erin & Alice's house for a girl's night with them. We ended up going to the park and Mads had a blast playing on the little structure with Alice.

We went to church this morning and then afterwards we headed back over to Erin & Alice's house. We got in the car with them and headed up to Neenah for some shopping at Kohl's. You have to go when you get a 30% off coupon in the mail! :) Poor Dave had to stay behind to mow their lawn, it was a GIRLS weekend, you know!!

Then at 1PM we headed over to Barby & Ryan's as they were hosting a retirement party for Ryan's mom, Pam. We only stayed for about an hour as Mads was beyond tired since naptime is normally from noon to 3:30. So we came back home and Mads went down for a nap and I updated the blog, which brings us to now! :) Dad is on his way home and tonight we have a fun outing to Festival Foods planned!

I do have some more random pictures for you to enjoy. Have a great week!

I came home from Bible study on Monday to this... apparently Mads had a blow out at the babysitter and she didn't have any extra clothes. So, the sitter borrowed a 3T outfit from another kid. Lovely, isn't it?

Hugs for Caden on our walk:

On Tuesday night after Andrew's softball game we went over to another teammate's house for a cook out. The neighbor girl had a Powerwheel. Mads thought it was pretty sweet!

I don't need a stinkin' baby swing!!

Fun with bubbles!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Dad's Home!!

This video is from last week Wednesday. Mads and Lils watching out the window for Dad to come home from work. I told Andrew that I taped this so in 15 years when Maddie "hates" her Dad he can show her this and remind her that she used to love him! :)

But, seriously, how adorable is this!?

Someone lost their glasses...

It's true! Maddie's Build-A-Bear turtle, Shelly, lost her glasses on Tuesday...

We did end up finding them as they hadn't gone too far...

Maddie did this all on her own. She decided that she was going to wear Shelly's glasses for a change! They seem to fit better than the pair from work too! :)

On Wednesday Mads and I were home with Caden. We took a nice long walk through South Park to see the ducks and then to the little park to play for a bit. They both had a blast and both were very upset when we had to come home and go inside for naps!

Yesterday was a fun day as we were able to see both sides of the family. First we met Gramma J and Grandma Honey in Watertown for lunch. They were in the area visiting family and wanted to meet with the babe. Then for dinner we went out with Grandma Mary, Aunt Jill, Uncle Eric and the cousins to the Melting Pot to celebrate Aunt Jill's birthday. Mads had a fun time with the marshmallows and the chocolate fondue.

Poking a tomato so that she could wear it like a ring:

Today was a recovery day from all the fun that we had yesterday. I went in to check on Mads while napping and I found her snoozing on Henry the Hippo. Apparently someone didn't fall asleep right away! :)

That's all for now. Just a short little post on our week. Thanks for stopping by!
