Two Weeks of News!

Sorry about the long delay between posts. Maddie and I were very busy and even took a vacation in Monroe. My last post was on the 17th, so I'll give you an update on what has happened since then!

On our way home from our visit to Monroe the weekend of the 15-16th Andrew suggested that Maddie and I take a vacation to Monroe. He thought it would be a good idea to spend time with the family there as I will soon be back to work and won't have the opportunity to spend a week there anytime in the near future. We all got back to Oshkosh on the 16th, and Maddie and I did things around the house on the 17th and 18th in order to be ready for our trip. We cleaned the house, did laundry and ran errands. On Tuesday, the 18th we had lunch with Dad in Ripon since we would be leaving the next day. We left Wednesday around 11:30 and were in Monroe around 3ish. Lily was very excited to take a vacation at Gramma Jackie's! Here she is, excited on the car ride down:

We stayed in Monroe from Wednesday the 19th through Wednesday the 26th. We had a great time visiting all the Grandmas, Grandpas, Great Grandmas, and Aunt Kimmys! It was nice enough that we were able to take a couple of walks too!

Our walk with Aunt Kimmy on the Thursday the 20th:

On Friday, the 21st we went to Grandma Lucy's house to dye Easter Eggs with Aunt Kimmy and Justin. This was the best picture I was able to get of Maddie with the eggs, unfortunately her hands are in her face!

Andrew came down to Monroe after work on Friday, then on Saturday Andrew and I went to Madison to eat lunch at Flat Top Grill. This was the first time that we had gone out without Maddie. Mads stayed home with Gramma Jackie while we were gone. Then when we got back to Monroe Maddie was able to meet her cousins Ryan and Lisa for the first time!

Saturday night I was also able to put Maddie's hair into a "pony!" Andrew thought I was mean... I think it's cute, we just need a smaller hair doodle:

Sunday was of course Easter. We had a busy day with church in the morning, lunch at Gramma Jackie's with Grandma Lucy and the family, and then to Grandma Selma's for candy hunting and dinner the Wunschel side of the family. Here is a picture of Maddie in her Easter dress and her first Easter basket!

Mads also got to meet her cousins MaKenzie and Abby at Grandma Selma's:

Monday and Tuesday were mostly for relaxing. We went out to eat at the Suisse Haus on Monday and bummed around on Tuesday. Maddie chose Tuesday to catch up on some sleep:

Wednesday morning we had breakfast with Gramma Jackie, Grandma Lucy and Aunt Kimmy then went to Grandma Selma's for a couple hours to chat. Then we packed up the car and were back in Oshkosh around 6PM. We had a wonderful vacation and were so happy to see everyone!

So, since we've been back in Oshkosh we've still been busy. Thursday we went to have lunch with Daddy and Friday we babysat Claire and Nick while Jill was in Madison for continuing education. Maddie had a very fun day with her cousins. She couldn't keep her eyes off of them!

Saturday we had a birthday party to go to for one of Andrew's coworkers. Maddie got to wear her first pair of blue jeans to the party. She also wore a sweater that another coworker had knit for her. She was awake the whole time we were at the party, over four hours! Everyone kept commenting how adorable she is, and of course how great her hair is. Now you tell me, how cute is this kid in jeans?!

Yesterday we went to Green Bay to spend the day with Grandma Mary. Maddie met some of the neighbors and cheesed them up with smiles all over the place. I really like that she's so friendly when she meets people. Maddie was pretty zonked out when we got home, can't blame her after the busy weeks we've had, and Andrew and I took advantage of the time and tidied up the office area. How exciting are we?

This morning Maddie and I have been busy too. We had to retire all of her Newborn size sleepers. I had put a sleeper on her on Friday and noticed that the arms were too short and she didn't have enough room in the legs to stretch them all the way out. Her newborn pants are fine, they're actually still too big on her tiny butt, and as long as the newborn shirts are short sleeve they still fit too. She's so skinny, but getting too tall! The 0-3 month size clothes still fit, though. They're long enough to accommodate her arms and legs. Here's a picture of Maddie and her newly retired clothes:

Well, that's the update on what we've been doing the last two weeks. Hope you've all been well! Here's two more pictures that just crack me up. They're from the other morning when Maddie was busy hamming it up for me!

Two Month Update!

Maddie's two month birthday was on Wednesday. We took pictures to mark the occasion. We have pictures in her green newborn outfit as well as pictures in the big yellow twelve month outfit. Take a look at how she's grown over the past two months! (Click to see the picture larger)

Maddie made it through her two month appointment on Thursday. They weighed and measured her and then gave her three immunizations. She did very well with the shots, I think I cried more than she did. She didn't seem too bothered after the shots either, when I went to take a picture of her with her band aids on she was actually smiling for me!

Here are her stats from her appointment:
Weight : 9 Pounds 7 Ounces, 25th Percentile
Length : 24 Inches, 97th Percentile (Grandpa Jeff is very excited about this!)
Head Circ : 38 Centimeters, 45th Percentile

The big payoff after the doctor's appointment on Thursday was that we were able to head down to Monroe for a visit. We had a great time and were able to see both of Maddie's great grandmas, both sets of grandparents and Aunt Kimmy. We had a very nice trip and will be returning soon! :)

Stretching out with GG:

First "Coffee" with Grandma Honey:

We also went to Maddie's first wedding on Saturday night. It was the wedding of a high school friend of mine. Congratulations to Matt & Adrienne!

The weather was nice on Thursday and we were able to take our first walk outside!

Happy about fresh air!

Our friend Maren has a new website for her art. It's a really great website, it really shows off her work well. Check it out here or through the link on the left!

8 Weeks Old!

9:00 AM, Tuesday - I kept trying to post pictures on Sunday night and on Monday morning but with no success. Finally this morning I am able to get the pictures up. Thanks for checking back in!

6:30 PM, Sunday - Unfortunately Blogger is not letting me post pictures right now. I have everything ready to put them in place, we just need to have the system work for us. For now you can still read our post without pictures if you would like. We hope to have pictures up as soon as we can! Thanks for your patience!

Hello Everyone!
Little Miss Madeline was Eight Weeks old on Saturday. How time flies! She has grown so much in the last eight weeks. I weighed her last week on our scale at home and she was nine pounds. She's gotten incredibly long too, so I'm interested to see what the official numbers are. We go in on Thursday for her two month doctor appointment. For those of you with kids, you know that the two month appointment unfortunately brings the two month immunizations! Luckily for me Andrew is able to take the afternoon off to come with us to the appointment as it's going to be way to traumatic for me to go to alone! Poor Mads!

Our week turned out to be pretty busy this week. On Tuesday we went to Appleton and had dinner at Tumbleweed with two of my coworkers. Then we had a Respiratory meeting to go to. All the girls at the hospital were happy to see Madeline as they hadn't seen her yet. They all said that she looks like me, but I think that has a lot to do with them not knowing Andrew. I agree that she does have my eyes, but she also has Andrew's chin. I think she's a good mix of the two of us!

On Wednesday my sister Kim came through Oshkosh, so she stopped by for a visit. Kim hadn't seen Maddie since our visit to Monroe when Mads was three weeks old. It was also nice for Lily to have a visitor to scratch her belly! :) Here's a picture from Kim's visit:

Thursday was another trip to the dentist, hopefully we're done with those trips now! We also went to have lunch with Dad on Thursday as well. While we were at Dad's office his Optician's granddaughter, Natalie, was there for a visit as well. Natalie was born in August, so she's almost six months old. It's neat to see what she's doing because then we know what we have to look forward to with Maddie.

On Saturday Andrew's mom, Mary, came down to help Maddie bake her first cake. We had given Mary an Easter Bunny cake pan for her birthday and she wanted to use it for the first time with Maddie, since she gave it to her. The cake turned out wonderfully and looks awesome! We put it in the freezer to hold on to until Easter. We can't wait to show off Maddie's cake baking skills to all the family in Monroe! Here's Maddie and her first cake:

Well, that about covers it. Here are a few more pictures from our week! Thanks for stopping by!

Looking stylish in my jean dress from Claire and my Ugg boots from Gramma Jackie!

I'm such a big girl I can hold my own Nuk in!

Trying out my Moby that my friend Esther's mom made for me... I love it!!!

Just being a cutie pie!

Smiles, Smiles & More Smiles!

Last week Madeline and I didn't really do much in the terms of excitement. We went to Ripon twice to have lunch with Daddy since we weren't able to go to lunch last week. In terms of weather, we had a nice week since we didn't get any gigantic snowstorms and it wasn't deathly cold for a change! Since the roads were clear we did a lot of errand running. Errands are definitely a lot more time consuming now with a baby, but they are a lot cuter! :)

Maddie has continued to be a smiling, happy little peanut. She likes to wake up with Dad at 6 in the morning and smile and chat. She's gotten to be pretty good a cooing up a storm too!

Here are some pictures from our week. Since we didn't really do much I will just present them to you as one from each day of our week, with a couple bonus pictures at the end. Since Maddie's birth I have taken at least one picture of her per day, so that I can see her grow. I don't know where I will store all of these photos, but I'm happy that I will have them to look back on when she's bigger.

Monday: Happy in her bouncer

Tuesday: Ready for bed in jams and bunny slippers!

Wednesday: Hamming it up for Mom!

Thursday: Don't you love the baby Ugg boots?

Friday: Sleeping after a busy week of errands!

Saturday: In a food coma and ready to sleep!

Bonus: So happy (and stylish) arriving at Daddy's office

Bonus: Getting ready in the morning... SO BIG!

Bonus: Waiting for her bedtime story - Look at that Sparky hair!

Bonus: Precious little hands
