June 19th ~ AMELIA'S 2nd BIRTHDAY! (Amelia Island Trip - DAY SIX, Part One)

Friday, June 19th was the reason we were on Amelia Island in Florida - Our sweet baby girl's SECOND BIRTHDAY!  This was a day filled with so many emotions - sadness because we aren't able to celebrate with her in our arms, but happiness because we know that she's still here with us everyday in spirit.  We wanted to make June 19th the best beach birthday a little two year old princess could ever ask for!!

We celebrated on central time - so we were out on the beach at 8:30 to start the party while it was 7:30 in Monroe.  Our little girl, loved by so many, had birthday celebrations happening across the United States!!

In Florida we went out to the beach to send some birthday mail to Amelia.  We took turns writing on pink balloons:

We paired them with the pretty butterfly balloon that Daddy picked out:
and got ready to send them up to Amelia!
Mads and Nate did the honors:

 We love you sweet girl!

What is a birthday without a cake?

We weren't able to get a traditional Dairy Queen ice cream cake (unless I chose one with monster trucks on it...) so we went with a Cold Stone cake batter ice cream cake.

And yes, it was 8:45 in the morning on the beach eating ice cream cake!  But when you're celebrating a birthday it's all good!

We had one more special surprise for Amelia - a floating, lighted rose.  We wanted to throw it into the tide and have it wash away to her.

The kids got ready to send it out:
Mads threw it......  and it came back.
So Nate took a turn.....  and it came back:
So we had to get the big guns in!  Daddy threw that rose and it was off to Amelia!  (Or so we thought...  when we came to the beach later that afternoon, 5 hours later, we found it on the beach.  Left behind from where the tide came in.  No biggies, we took it back and now it's on our coffee table next to our treasures from our trip!
Happy Birthday beautiful girl, from Florida!  :)

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, there was a celebration going on!

Amelia's spot was decorated for a princess!  She got a pink princess balloon, birthday crown, presents, a little pink rose plant and a homemade cupcake!

 Another pink sparkle candle!

The evening of Amelia's birthday there was another special party out at Amelia's spot.  Grandma J, Grandpa Jeff, Grandma Marie, Aunt Kimmy, Uncle Jakey, Cousin Michael, Victor and Joey (the doggie) all gathered to send more birthday balloons to our special girl!  Andrew and I had no idea that this was being planned and we were overcome with tears of happiness to know that Amelia was celebrated from sun up to sun down!!

Lots of our family and friends celebrated with Amelia by wearing pink and sending their love - I made a collage of all the pictures we got of our loved ones wearing pink & honoring Amelia:

It is so humbling to know that Amelia has touched so many lives.  To know that her love spans the globe is simply amazing!  Thank you to all of you that continue to lift us up in hard times and spread Amelia's love throughout the world!
