MEXICO! (April 30) ATV'ing & Cenote Swimming

Monday, April 30th, was another excursion day.  This time we used Mexxtremo Adventures for a day of ATV'ing in the jungle followed by swimming in a cenote.  With TWO X's in the name how can you go wrong?

First we helmeted up and got ready to ride the ATVs.

We rode together.  We had the option to have our own ATV's, but I didn't know how hard the driving would be so we went together.  Andrew drove for the first half and I took over when it was time to "GO FAST!"  (As Nathan would say!)

After the ATV'ing, we went to the cenote for a tour of the cave and a chance to swim in the water.

After the excursion was over we were able to hang out in the hammocks until it was time for the shuttle to take us back to our resort

Monday afternoon we switched to a new resort.  On Friday when we got back from Tulum there was a letter under our door stating that we could switch from the Dreams resort to either the Secrets Silversands resort or the Secrets Capri resort for no extra charge.  (This tied in to the 10th Anniversary where they are trying to show off their resorts, hoping you'll come back.)  We decided to go to the Secrets Silversands.  All of the Secrets hotels are 18 and older, so there are no kids.  We didn't find the kids to be a problem at the Dreams, the only thing we noticed was that the Secrets was so QUIET!  Very relaxing!

We were greeted with a glass of champagne to welcome us!

The view from the balcony.  While it wasn't a direct ocean view, you still could see the ocean from our room.

The resort from the beach.  There were multiple buildings at this resort.  Also, the beach wasn't as nice since it wasn't protected by a reef and a bay like the Dreams beach, but Secrets made up for the beach by having six awesome pools!

Monday night we had dinner at the French restaurant, Bordeaux.  VERY yummy and we met a VERY chatty newlywed couple from Cleveland while we were there!
