Last week was a super fun week in the Josephs household!
First off, we were lucky enough to go to Lifest on Thursday. I was scheduled to work but one of the MDs ended up taking the week off so I was able to take Thursday off as well. Andrew worked a half day and was home by 12:30. Once the kids were up from their nap we headed out to the Expo center. We got there around 3PM and JJ Heller was playing. We decided to go explore the grounds and walk around instead of pulling up a blade of grass. ;) There were six or seven stages with music and speakers so we heard some of JJ Heller as well as other artists. We made sure to get back to the main stage to find a good spot before Matthew West started. Andrew and I both agree that Matthew West was the best show of the day. Mads was dancing along to the music:
Andrew made a food run and we ate supper during Kutless. Nathan took a bite of his first corn dog:
Look how big that corn dog is! Of course it's on a stick! :)
As it started getting darker Lifest staffers handed out glow sticks. Playing "light sabers" with them was a good way to pass the time until MercyMe started their set.
Aw! Cute kids!
Nathan was prepared for the final act of the night with his ear plugs:
Fun with glow sticks!
Mads and Nathan got up to dance during their favorite songs!
Here is Mads dancing to MercyMe:
We had an absolutely fantastic time at Lifest! I hope that we can go again next year.
On Friday we had Nathan's one year pictures taken. He was a little ham and his pictures turned out great! You can view them here you'd like:
On Saturday Andrew had his annual charter boat fishing trip on Lake Michigan with Eric and friends. Since he was going to be busy all day the kids and I went down to Monroe to help Aunt Kimmy with her wedding invitations. After we got the work done we took the kids to the Monroe pool for some fun in the kiddie pool.
Nathan is big enough now that he can walk in the shallow water. He was mostly concerned with what his sister was doing on the other side of the pool:
Mads:
Weeeee! Mads loves the Ducky slide:
Look at sister!
Fun with the fountain:
Nathan's first trip down the Ducky slide:
Mads stops to wave!

When we got home we had a nice dinner of spaghetti made by Gramma J. This was Nathan's first time eating spaghetti and he was a big fan!
YAY for spaghetti!
We got back home on Sunday afternoon. Nothing exciting happened, just unpacking and laundry! :)
I was fortunate enough to have Monday off as well. The weather was a bit warm, but absolutely perfect in my eyes! The kids agreed with me and we went out in the afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and take a dip in our little pool. I couldn't believe it, but they got in right after I took the hose out. The water was freezing! They were literally chilling in the pool! There is nothing better than watching the joy on your kids' faces doing something as simple as splashing in a pool, though!
Look at all of this fun!
Love this picture!
Nathan liked to dump water on his belly.
Tuesday was a big day in our house... Mads turned THREE AND A HALF!
Here she is showing her three and a half! (That's a pointer, middle finger, and ring finger on one hand and a bent pointer finger on her other hand!)
We celebrated her half birthday by getting some "pink" ice cream and taking it with us to watch Daddy's softball game.
Nathan rocked a pretty sweet ice cream 'stache:
Mmmmm!
What a fun week!
A few random pictures:
Mads drew a picture of Lily all by herself. Looking pretty good, huh?
Nathan takes a break from playing to type an email:
Mads fell asleep on the way home tonight. So peaceful!
An update on Nathan's walking.... He pretty much walks all of the time. He will crawl if he's on the ground already and he needs to get somewhere FAST. Otherwise he will stand himself up and walk about 95% of the time. Since I shot this video on Monday he's gotten even better with his walking. He can walk the length of the kitchen, navigate the switch to carpet and keep going. He's still in the "Drunken Sailor" mode, but he's doing great!
I am so blessed!!
Thanks for stopping by!
