After all the parties, it was time to finally make things official! At 12:51AM on Tuesday, January 12th Mads became an EIGHT YEAR OLD. She was obviously very excited:
She woke to her decorated door. This year it was decorated in pastel "spa colors." :)
A birthday pancake made by Daddy:
It's a fun treat to have pancakes and sausage for breakfast on a school day!
Mads took Blue Velvet cupcakes with "nail polish bottles" on top for her school treat.

Mads had a great day at school. Daddy surprised her at school for lunch and they sat together with her friends.
Her classmates came up with a wall of traits to describe Mads. How sweet are these: smart, caring, helpful, funny, sweet, fast (lol!), intelligent, kind, smiley (LOVE it!), friendly, worker, imaginative and creative!!
Since Daddy had a surprise lunch - I got to surprise Mads with a trip to Chocolate Temptation after school. She was able to pick two chocolates!

We headed to Janesville for the traditional birthday dinner at Red Robin! Mads snuggled up with Daddy:

When we got home it was time for presents.
Mads got a new book series:
and a couple craft kits.

Just at Maddie's classmates said - this girl is beyond wonderful. She has a caring heart and is such a hard worker with everything she does. Each year is amazing - she learns and grows more than we can even imagine. I'm sure 2016 will be another wonderful year filled with so many positive experiences. We love you Pickle! Happy 8th Birthday!
