Our Christmas prep this year has been scattered and disjointed, but we're making it happen!
We started with a trip to the Tree Farm the day after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately we didn't find a tree that we liked, but we did have fun on wagon ride pulled by horses!
We found Santa too!! The kids were excited to find the Big Guy and made sure to let him know what they were hoping for this year.
We were headed up to New London on Saturday, November 28th for our Thanksgiving with Andrew's family. We first made a stop at Harmony Hill to hunt a tree. This was our favorite tree farm when we lived in Oshkosh and they didn't disappoint this year!
Nate was in charge of the saw... with safety guard on!
We found a wonderful tree within 30 seconds of being on the farm. We forced ourselves to keep looking and found amazing tree after amazing tree. We went back to the beginning and decided to cut down our first choice. Such a full tree!
Andrew cut it down and we had our 2015 tree!
While waiting for the tree to be shaken and baled the kids enjoyed some popcorn and hot apple cider.
We put the tree IN the van and were on our way to Thanksgiving at the Duch house!
Not only did we celebrate Thanksgiving, but we also celebrated Claire's 12th birthday.
The cuzzies:
This picture cracks me up... Claire doesn't have enough fingers for 12 so Mads helped!
As we continued our Christmas prep, the kids were finally able to decorate the tree on Saturday night, December 5th after Christmas Cookie Day.
Amelia is never far from our hearts!
The kids in front of the finished product! (Which only lasted a day... the tree fell over the next day breaking some ornaments!)
We continued our tradition of choosing a child from the Christmas Stocking tree. We chose a 4 year old girl in memory of Amelia.
We have our beautiful stockings hung as well:
Merry Christmas!
