August Randomness

It's time for the end of month random picture recap!

 Mads and Nate got some sweet new shoes for the school year.  Maddie's have ties, so she's been working hard at learning how to tie her own shoes.  :)

 The weather has been pretty nice.  On one of the days when it was 75 degrees or so we took a walk/ride to the mailboxes.  Mads just loves riding her bike without the training wheels.  Nate did a great job riding the whole way too.  (It's about a 2 mile round trip)

  Look at these goofballs!  Gramma J found glasses that are straws (or straws that are glasses, I'm not sure which!) and the kids had fun drinking a few cups of water with them!

We took a trip to the zoo in Oshkosh one day.  Nate loved watching the new otter swimming around!

Lily got a big shaggy over the last couple of months.  She missed her July appointment and then went on vacation to Gramma J's house for three weeks.  She was excited to get home, but I wasn't sure if she could see that she was home or not since she had so much fur in her eyes.  She was able to get trimmed up and looked fabulous with some new bows in her ears!

The kids and I took the van to get a wash.  While we were waiting Mads found the Sunday comics!

The Wednesday of the week before school started there was an open house to meet the teacher.  Mads found her seat with her nametag!

 Then we went out to dinner at Kodiak Jack's to celebrate Mads going to school!

 We also had to make sure to spiff up Maddie's fingers and toes before the big first day of school.

 Aunt Kimmy was able to join us for our spa morning!  

 These are technically September pictures, but we had a back to school fun night with Claire, Nick, Aunt Jill, Uncle Eric & Grandma Mamie on the 1st.  Mads got a little present from her cousins:

 A timer bookmark with reading light!  Mads LOVES it!

 Nick & Nate were cool just lounging in the papasan chair!  

Back to the morning of spa day... while Aunt Kimmy, Mads & I went to be pampered Uncle Jakey and Nate had a boys day.  They made this giant fort and played a few games of Candy Land in it!  :)
