Yes, that's right. Madeline celebrated her FIFTH BIRTHDAY, in style, with multiple celebrations!
Mads started her celebrations at school on Friday the 11th. It was her special day to bring the treats and she brought rainbow frosted cupcakes!
Wowza! Look at all of those cuppies!
That night we took Mads out to eat to celebrate and she chose to go to Red Robin.
Coloring in the lines, like a big 5 year old!
Cheers to Maddie's birthday!
Standing for the birthday song from the servers!
YUM! A special birthday sundae - complete with cherry on top!
She's (almost) FIVE!
Nate had fun boxing his balloon while Mads finished her sundae.
We came home and decorated the house for the party the next day.
Mads was asleep at her official birthday time, but here is the new FIVE YEAR OLD at exactly 12:51 AM!
The flash ended up waking her up, so her first words as a fiver year old were "Man, that's bright!" :)
Maddie's rainbow decorated birthday door. I thought it looked like a whole bunch of clown suspenders lined up, but Andrew thought it was more like Mork from Mork & Mindy! :)
Andrew made Mads a special birthday breakfast of pancakes and sausage. Mads ate three pancakes!
Nathan got a Yoda pancake!
A little while after breakfast it was time to open presents from Mommy, Daddy & Nate:
Her big surprise was a jewelry box with a note saying that she was going to get her ears pierced!
She was pretty excited!
Nathan takes a turn with the video camera!
The official birthday party got started at noon. It was, of course, rainbow themed. We had some yummy rainbow jello with a cloud in the middle. Mads snuck a bite...
After lunch it was cake time! Look at the gorgeous cake that Grandma Mamie made!
Time to sing and blow out the candles!
It was so adorable because Mads made a wish that all of us could be together all the time.
After the candles were blown out Mads helped Daddy cut the cake so she could find the surprise inside...
RAINBOW LAYERS!

Cake time!
Then it was finally present time! Mads was able to read all of her cards this year. She did a fabulous job with her reading!
Giving Thank You hugs and kisses!
The cousins!
Cousins Gavin and Olivia were also at the party, but we couldn't get everyone together for a picture. Bummer. :(
We rounded out the evening by going to our friends' house to watch the Packers game. Unfortunately it was a loss, but otherwise it was a spectacular birthday!
Happy 5th Birthday to our little PICKLE! :)
