The last two Halloween traditions are always carving pumpkins and trick or treating.
We carved our pumpkins on Sunday the 28th. We had to squeeze our carving in between a birthday party (which is why Mads is wearing a cape) and a meeting. We got three pumpkins carved. One for Mads, one for Nate & one for Lily. We were going to carve a fourth pumpkin just for the fun of it, but ran out of time. So now the squirrels have a tasty snack to munch on outside! :)
First step, getting out the goo!
Mads supervising the process:
She did jump in to help dig out some guts, as long as none touched her! (She was using a scooper!)
The head of the pumpkin carving project:
I realize there are no pictures of Nate carving pumpkins this year. He wasn't feeling good that day and wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins. He spent the entire time in the other room. :(
The finished product! Mads has a Phineas pumpkin, Nathan a Ferb and Lily a Perry the Platypus!
Nothing spooky here! Just cuteness!
Finally it was Wednesday! Mads had been counting down to trick or treating for at least a week beforehand!
Before heading out to trick or treat we made homemade pizza. I thought it was funny that Andrew was letting the kids "box" the dough:
After the kids ate about a bite and a half of pizza each, it was time to put on their costumes!
Here are Super Why and Princess Presto from the PBS show "Super Why." Super Why has the power to read and Princess Presto has the power to spell. Can't really go wrong with that!
Nathan was beyond excited to go trick or treating!
Some of the action:
Excited Princess Presto!
How cute! Both kids were fantastic with their "Trick or Treat!" and "Thank You!" Proud Mom moment! :)
Our last stop was Caden & Lilli's house. Caden was so happy to see that Nathan was dressed up as Super Why that he went and got the iPad so Nate could play the Super Why app! Here Lilli is checking it out:

Princess & Super Girl Lilli:
One final pose for pictures! Pumpkins and costumes! It was a fun Halloween!
Nate shows off the candy spoils:
Happy to dig in!
Picking out their favorites:
YAY! Sugar rush! :)
