Brewers & Rollercoasters!

The kids took a tiny vacation to Monroe this weekend.  We got to Monroe around lunchtime and the kids stayed with Gramma J for the rest of the weekend while Andrew & I went with Kim & Jake to see the Brewers play on Saturday night and then on to Six Flags Great America on Sunday!

After saying good bye to the kids we headed off to Milwaukee.  We had enough time to do some tailgaiting beforehand!  Both Andrew and I have never tailgated a sporting event before - so we were first timers!  Good think Kim & Jake knew what they were doing!

Jake and Kim brought the Cadillac of tailgating chairs!

 MEN!   We grill!
The Brewers played the Pittsburgh Pirates.  It was Hispanic Heritage Day so we were actually watching the "Cerveceros" play the "Piratas."
 Sausage races!!
 The Cerveceros won!  5-1.

After the game we drove to Pleasant Prairie and stayed the night in the Super 8.  That way we didn't have to drive back to Monroe and then back to Gurnee.  It was a lot more convenient!  The hotel was only a 20 minute drive to the theme park.

We were hoping to have another awesome trip to Six Flags like last year.  While our ride tally wasn't as high this year (I think we rode 12 rides this year) we were able to ride our favorites, Raging Bull & Viper twice as well as the new ride, X Flight, twice.

Our first stop was the Raging Bull, front row!

 Challenging the Viper:
Sister shot in front of X Flight.  Awesome ride, probably my second favorite.  Nothing beats Raging Bull!
Taking the train back to the front of the park:
 Weeeee!
We brought the kids back some souvenirs.  Mads requested a new cape as her BatMads cape from last year has ripped.  Now we have "BatGirl" and "LanternBoy"  (Maddie's names) in the house:
 My superheroes in action!
They also got Brewers hat.  Nathan's hat couldn't be more perfect.  The hat has a dinosaur on it along with the old Brewer's logo, which Nathan think looks like a Blue's Clue.  He was super pumped about his "Dino Clue" hat!  :)

A couple more pictures of the kidlets.

We've been able to enjoy some time outside and Mads loves her hopscotch!

On Friday night we were coming home from Waupaca and we let the kids eat a mini blizzard in their car seats.  Apparently that was a bad choice as Nathan was a disaster.  He had ice cream all over, even on his forehead!  (This picture was actually after I wiped off the goatee of ice cream he had on his chin!)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!
