WHEW! What a busy weekend! VERY busy but VERY fun! We started on Friday by spending the day in Green Bay at Grandma Mamie's house. Aunt Jill, Claire & Nick were there and Aunt Eileen and Jim were in from Arizona! We all worked on a landscaping project while the kids ran around and played together. There's nothing better than a day with your cousins! I know I have many memories of spending the day playing with my cousins when we were kids!
A tough game of Candy Land. (Excuse Captain Safety's helmet - you can never be too safe!) :)
After the landscaping project was finished Nathan conked out for a three hour nap. Mads, Claire & Nick snacked on some Dilly Bars! Mads found it tricky to remember that she could bite the candy shell and didn't have to lick it like a lollipop!
After Nate woke up he had some quiet time reading a book with Claire. Cute!
We finished out Friday night with Uncle Eric and Andrew joining us for supper once they finished work. A great day with the family!
Saturday was a quick day trip to Monroe. We left Oshkosh in the morning and were to Monroe in the early afternoon. Uncle Jake graduated from his electrical apprenticeship program and Kim was throwing him a big graduation bash! Mads & Nathan had another fun afternoon in the sun playing with Tyce, Jake & Kim's nephew that's only 6 days younger than Nathan. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures on Saturday. There would have been a really great picture of Nathan & Tyce covered in frosting after they finished eating cake. They both had it EVERYWHERE! Congratulations Jakey!
Sunday was Father's Day. Once the kiddos were up we started on our surprise for Andrew. We got Andrew a new Keurig coffee maker and Mads made him his first cup!
Mads delivered the coffee to Andrew in bed while Nathan brought the card and Keurig book. (This picture is horrible - Mads blinked and Nathan is screaming "NO PICTURE!!!!!!" I'm sure Andrew could hear his surprise coming from a mile away!)
We ate a breakfast of eggs, sausages and toast per Andrew's request We quick ran to the grocery store for our weekly groceries and then we headed up to Claire and Nick's house for another family lunch! We had Claire, Nick, Aunt Jill, Uncle Eric, Aunt Eileen, Jim, Aunt Jeanne & Uncle John all there! Andrew whipped up his fabulous chicken and mushroom risotto for lunch. Yum!
While Andrew was cooking the kids were outside doing more playing! Claire and Nick were super nice and showed Mads how to play soccer. With as much as Mads loves running, she might really like soccer. She definitely had fun playing on Sunday!
After lunch the kids had fun in the water. Andrew took time to make sure Nathan knew how to properly aim the squirt gun... at Mommy!
The kids also had fun running through the "kid wash." It's supposed to be an arch that sprays water out, but it didn't stay upright. So, some modifications were made and once it was put over the close line we had an A-frame kid wash! :)
After the water was turned off the kids had some more fun in the front yard. Aunt Jill brought out the kid 4-Wheeler. Both Nathan and Mads LOVED driving it around. They were even willing to take turns so they could keep driving it! :)
After awhile Nathan found that he could aim the 4-Wheeler at people - he here is trying to run me over. Unfortunately for him, I kept moving out of the way!
The squirt guns ended up coming back out a little bit later in the afternoon. Nathan remembered his aiming skills that Andrew taught him and used those skills to spray Andrew!
Look out! He's on the move!
We had a super fun weekend! The kids had such a fun time playing with their cousins and their new friends at Uncle Jakey's party. Up next: Nathan's 2nd Birthday!! (WOW!)
