Easter fun in our house started on Wednesday the 4th. After getting home from work, we dyed Easter Eggs! Both kids had a ton of fun dyeing the eggs, Nathan was able to do alot more helping than last year when all he could do was supervise! ;)
Mads watches closely for the perfect color on her egg!
In progress:
Nathan did take a little break and tried to blow up some balloons.
Now he's back in the dyeing game! :)
Wow!
Nathan's egg had a Blue's Clues paw print on it - as Blue's Clues is Nathan's favorite thing right now!
(Unfortunately I didn't take picture of our finished eggs, so this is the best I have.)
We had an egg break while dyeing, so Mads jumped right in and ate it! Both kids are fans of hard-boiled eggs!
For the Easter weekend the kids are I went down to Monroe on Friday afternoon. We went to the Fire Department's Fish Fry with Aunt Kimmy & Uncle Jake that evening. Yummy!
Saturday was spent in town running errands and visiting people. We went to lunch at the Suisse Haus and then had ice cream at the Garden Deli. Andrew got into town later on Saturday evening and we had pizza and played board games with Kimmy & Jake.
Sunday morning both kids were up bright and early by 6AM. They had some breakfast and then got dressed in their spiffy Easter outfits and started the egg hunt! The bunny left four eggs for each of them and a basket. Nathan was much more involved this year and had fun yelling "EGGY!"
Ooops.. the coins the bunny left in the egg spilled out...
Oooh Mads! You're so close!
Do you see the egg hidden "where the eggs are kept?" (That was her clue!)
Found it!
Nathan found his basket in the corner behind the couch. "Heavy!" was what he thought of it!
Here he is listening to the audio book that was in his basket.
Mads still had to find her basket... There it is!
Two kids with two baskets (and Lily hiding in the corner of the picture!)
After eating Easter brunch with Grandma J, Honey, Aunt Kimmy, Uncle Jake, Aunt Dee & Uncle Jerry we headed over to Cousin Melissa's house to see the Wunschel side of the family. Soon after we got there the kids did the traditional egg hunt in the backyard.
Good eye Nate!
After picking the eggs from the top of the slide there was only one way to get down!
Nathan leaves his basket behind while looking for more eggs!
Look at Nate's stash!
All the kids with their baskets - and none of them looking at my camera! :)
After the egg hunt the kids did some playing. Officer Abigail was on patrol and she let Nathan go on a ride-along!
Swing set fun!
While the kids were playing the adults did the traditional candy hunt. Here's the winning team:
And the losing team. :( Yep, I lost again.
And a nice picture of the cousins to round out the day!
