Bowling with the kiddos!

On Saturday we spent the afternoon at Oshkosh Lanes bowling with a group from our church.  There were lots of kids and Mads was excited because it was her (and Nathan's) first time bowling!

We got the spiffy bowling shoes.  Andrew was excited about his white shoes.  I thought they would be good shoes to have for techno bowling night!
Mads got a lovely brown and tan combination pair!  :)

Mads used the bowling ramp for most of her turns.

She got to be pretty good at aiming it!
Nathan manned the computer system.

Check this out!  Mads got a strike!

BIG X on the scoreboard for Mads!

Nathan's turn!  He was definitely having a blast pushing the ball down the ramp!

Nate's handiwork:

Here goes Mads!  By the end of the day she was able to do it all by herself; pull the ramp up, aim, bring the ball over, and go for the strike!

Nathan had his turns too.  He didn't want to have to wait for the other kids so that did make him a bit upset...

Mads tried a couple of rolls without the ramp since the bumpers were up, but it took the ball too long to get to the end of the lane to have any power to knock pins down.

Strong baby!

These were the scores at the end of game one.  Andrew 62, Nicole 71 (I was bowling both players as Andrew was helping Mads)

and Maddie's final score was 78.  Yep, she beat us!

Nathan was getting a little bored with the bowling towards the end of the second game...  he found a spot to rest.

I like this picture and how Nathan is keeping a close eye on what Mads is doing.

Team effort...

a SPARE!

The second game final scores:  Nicole 86, Andrew 108

and Mads 102.  Almost beat dad again!

What a blast!
