Monday Maddie and I headed down to Fond Du Lac in order to return our cable box. Yes, you did read that right. I cancelled the cable. I thought it would be a good way for us to save money, as well as create more family time together. Since we were headed to Fondy I gave my friend, Erin, a call and we set up a little play date. (Hi Erin!) So, after we dropped off the cable box Mads and I headed over to Erin's house to see her and her boys. Mads had a blast playing with Paul and Duke. I think we were there for about two hours and Mads was out like a light once we got back to the car. Here are some pictures of the kiddos playing:
Monday night was an exciting night as Maddie decided to try out a spoon. I put a plate with mashed potatoes down for her and thought I would give the spoon a try. I didn't think much would happen, but Mads grabbed the spoon right away and took a couple bites:
Then she decided to forgo the spoon and use her hands, which then created the need for an emergency bath!
Tuesday we went to Ripon to have lunch with Daddy. We went right next door to Culver's where Maddie enjoyed her first "Scoopie Meal." She had grilled cheese, french fries and a few bites of vanilla custard. Yummy!
Wednesday Mads went to the sitter's while I did some things around the house. When Mads got home she showed me what she did at Jeanette's... her first art project!! Here she is showing them off in her "gallery." The ghosts are made from her feet prints and the bat's wings are her hand prints.
Thursday I worked, so nothing too exciting happened.
Friday was a fun day. First Maddie had her Nine-Month check up with the Nurse Practitioner. Here are her stats:
Weight: 17 pounds, 12 ounces (30th percentile)
Length: 27 1/2 inches (50th percentile)
Mads was excited because there are no shots associated with the nine month check, BUT she happened to have some bad luck because of the time of year. She had to get a flu shot. :(
After the appointment we headed back down to Fond Du Lac to go to The Little Farmer. We were hoping to finally get our pumpkins since our day in Door County ended up being pumpkin-free. While we were able to find a pumpkin, we weren't able to pick apples because it started raining. We did get some pictures by the big apple before the rain came down but then it started raining during our pumpkin pictures.
Saturday I was at work and it was a Daddy & Maddie day. Grandma Mary came down to visit. She, Andrew and Mads went out for lunch at Red Robin. For supper that night Mads gave ravioli a try. She found that it made good hair gel, prompting another emergency bath...
On Sunday, while I was at work, Andrew and Maddie drove to Port Washington to meet Gramma Jackie, Grandpa Thom, Grandma Honey, Aunt Kimmy and Jake for a fun afternoon. They walked along the lake and also had some fun swinging at a park. Maddie also enjoyed the brunch buffet where she found that she likes scrambled eggs!
So, that's the recap of our week. Here are a couple more random pictures.
Playing with Lily:
Maddie started making this really funny face this week. Along with the face goes a sniffing sound. These pictures don't really due it justice. Her "sniffy face" cracks me up!
A peacock that we almost ran into at The Little Farmer:
Hope you have a good week! Thanks for stopping by!
