Color Run 5K

Last year our niece, Claire, joined a running club through school.  She ran a few 5Ks throughout the year and I thought it would be fun to get some more of the family involved with her new found interest!  Mads loves any kid of physical activity so I knew it wouldn't be hard to get her on board - but I wanted to make this a super fabulous experience...  I have heard about the Color Run for years and figured it would be a blast!! Since we couldn't send Mads and Claire on their way alone, it meant Jill & I would be joining!  :)

To say we had a fabulous time would be an understatement!  The Color Run has you covered...  from the Jazzercise before the start of the race, to the packets of color to spread all over your friends AFTER the race, and of course the shower of color during the race...  it was just an amazing experience!!

The saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words...  I can't explain the race any better than the following pictures!!

Before the race..  Clean Mads and the cutest member of our cheering squad, Nate!

And we're off!  The first color was PINK!
Claire got a big ol' splat of pink in the face!
BLUE was up next!  Love this picture - look how much fun Auntie Jill, Claire and Mads are having in the cloud of color!
  YELLOW!
 ORANGE!
Mads is heading towards the finish...
and the GLITTER!
We did it!  (and got finisher medals!)
What may have been the best part of the race was that we were given color packets as we crossed the finish line.  This meant we got to dump them on the girls!!

Cloud of WHITE!
 Love it!
Mads was covered in sparkles!
We found more color packets and made a big cloud of color!
 COLOR HUG!
Me and my Pickle!  So proud of her!
 The (colored) crew!
 Cuzzies!
What did you think of the Color Run, Claire?  :)
This picture cracks me up...  the girls were taking selfies on the way home to check how dirty they were!  :)
Not clean quite yet, but dirty shirts off and with our medals.  Auntie Jill gave Nate her medal - in honor of his fabulous cheering!!
Grandma Mamie and Daddy were in our cheering squad too.  While we were out on the course they picked up a few gifts to surprise the girls with.  Check out these fabulous socks...  socks that Grandma Mamie says they will wear in next year's Color Run!

What a wonderful way to spend a morning with my family!!  Daddy & Nate are ready to join us next year!  Can't wait to make more memories next time!  :)
