Tunnel Trail 2015!

Tunnel Trail Annual* Camping Weekend!!
*(except for 2014)

Life gets pretty hectic for the Josephs - so we knew that if we wanted to go camping this year it needed to be planned far in advance.  I'm not kidding at all when I say the site reservations were made on January 22nd!!  Our friends the Ames and Zabels may have thought I was nuts, but it is the only way we can get things done!  :)

Our first trip to Tunnel Trail was in 2011! (Look Barby, Lilli was there!)
We then went in 2012, 2013, missed 2014 and back again for 2015.

All three families rolled into camp by 7ish, and were able to get the campers set up, unpack, and reconnect with our friends!  It was a low key night by the fire pit (too warm to actually have the fire going!) and the kids played for a bit before bed.

We were up bright and early Saturday morning for a hearty breakfast of Camp Potatoes, this year with bacon or sausage!  So yummy!

Then it was off for the bike ride!

Trygve was prepared with his Cheese Whiz!  :)
Our biker gang!  :)  This year the big kids; Esther, Mads & Caden rode their own bikes!!

The kids have their headlamps and are ready to walk thru the tunnel!
What a cute stinker!
We found an old school playground for our stopping point.  We had a picnic lunch and the kids played on the equipment, including this old school merry go round!
The kids were spinning like crazy!
Caden is starting to slide off!!  There were some dizzy kids after this spin!
Back on the trail, heading back to camp:
Biking selfie!

We went just about 9.5 miles and the big kids led the way!!  So proud of them!

Our 2015 route on the Elroy - Sparta Bike Trail:

When we got back to camp we did some recouperating - although our kids look pretty happy!
And then we went swimming!!

As you can tell, Fishie Mads, was more than excited to be in the pool!
Buddies!
Nate was working on his diving skills:
Cannonball contest!

Getting tossed by Dad:

Jumping over Dad:

More cannonballs!
Smiley kiddos!
Mads & Esther:

Look at that technique!
You can just about hear her yelling "CANNONBALL!"
After swimming it was time for dinner.  Caden was waiting patiently:
The Amish came by with their tasty sweet treats!
Grilled corn on the cob for supper!
And S'Mores afterwards!
Sticky mess!
On Sunday the kids were able to do more bike riding.  They were able to ride their bikes on and off throughout the whole weekend.
There was quite a hill that the kids got cruising down.  Both Caden and Mads ended up with bandaids before the end of the weekend!
Nate & Lilli looking at the little dogs out of view:
A little mini-golf on Sunday.  Mads wasn't quite getting the hang of it and ended up giving up.
But Nate stuck with it!
Tricky obstacle!
Our camping kidlets!
We tried some geo-caching before heading home.  All the kidlets helped to search for the caches.
No matter how deep they had to go!  :)  The team of kidlets found 2 caches along the bike trail!
Mads and Nate on the neat Tunnel Trail bench:
Goodbye hugs!!

As always Tunnel Trail was a fantastic weekend with our friends!  We better start planning Tunnel Trail Weekend 2016 now!  :)
