Happy Easter!

We headed down to Monroe for the Easter weekend early on Saturday morning.  After eating lunch we were invited to take the kids to the Easter Egg Hunt at the Clarno church.  We went with Holly, Fletcher, Victor, Aunt Kimmy, Uncle Jakey & Gramma J.

It was too muddy and windy for the hunt to be outside, so it was held in the church.  The kids started by lining up along the wall and weren't able to go find the eggs until they shouted loud enough that they were good and ready to go!

Nathan and Fletcher listening to directions:
 Mads is ready to go!
And she's off like a flash!
Nathan took a little more time to place his eggs carefully in his bag:

Mads came in with 26 eggs, Fletcher with 14 and Nate with a few less than that.  A successful egg hunt!

On Sunday morning the kids awoke to find that the Easter Bunny had stopped by Gramma J's house.  They were able to use their egg hunting skills from the day before to find their own eggs.  Maddie's eggs had swirls on them and Nate's had stripes!

Checking carefully to see if the egg is his:
Sneaky bunny!

The kids each got a basket filled with goodies and not too much chocolate!  :)

What a find!  And those "baskets" will be great pails for fun in the sand this summer!

After hunting eggs we headed to church with Grandpa Jeff & Grandma Marie at the Monroe Bible Church.  Nathan ended up falling asleep, which was a bit odd, and a foreshadow of what was to come.

We returned to Gramma J's house after church for Easter lunch with Gramma, Honey, Victor, Aunt Kimmy & Uncle Jakey.  Shortly after lunch we found out why Nate was out of sorts - his stomach hurt.  He ended up throwing up so we had to call our Easter festivities short.  We weren't able to go visit at Cousin Melissa's house and we missed the annual candy hunt. :(  Hopefully we'll be able to see everyone soon!
