On Labor Day Andrew and I decided to try taking the kids to Bay Beach again after the melt-down that occurred the last time we went. Our time on Labor Day was absolutely fantastic. Mads still wasn't a fan of waiting in the lines, but she kept it together and kept telling us how much she was having!
We were able to ride all of the kiddie rides as well as a few of the "bigger kid" rides with Mads.
Mads was a huge helper with Nathan... we actually had to keep reminding her that she didn't need to keep a death grip on him! :)
I love what Nathan was doing in the boats. There was a little girl in the row behind Nate and Mads. About half way through the ride Nathan turned around and started steering the little girl's wheel for her!
"I got this!"We had fun on the helicopters, Andrew rode with Nathan and I rode with Mads!
We made a stop at the ponies for Mads to take a ride:
Designated ticket holder:Andrew and Mads took some spins on the Tilt-A-Whirl:
Having a blast while spinnning around!
And The Scrambler!!
Mads could barely peek over the rail, but she had so much fun!
Here she is getting off, telling Andrew that she didn't turn into an egg! (We had told her that if she went on "The Scrambler" she might turn into a scrambled egg)
"Daddy, I'm not an egg!!"
We hit the carousel for the final carousel ride of the year. Nathan wanted to ride the "Arp, Arp!"
He was so excited! What a ham!
On our way out to the van Mads and I stopped for one last ride - the Big Slide. Mads was nervous, but we did it! (Even though we got stuck twice on the way down!)
So happy after a fun day at Bay Beach!
Family photo op!
Thursday, September 8th was a doubly awesome day. First off, the Packers opened the 2011 season with a win - but of course it was Andrew's Birthday!!
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Love, your little Packer Fans!
Go team! This past Saturday we went up to Green Bay to watch Nick show his pig, Phineas, at the Youth Livestock show.
Hugs from cousin Claire!
Just lounging!!!!
Mads helped Claire get her sheep, Junie, ready for her showing on Sunday.
Sudsing her up:
Blow drying:
Nick did a great job showing his pig!
Claire showed her sheep on Sunday and she won her showmanship division!!
We weren't able to go watch Claire on Sunday because it was Maddie's first day of Sunday School!!
She was excited all week long and kept talking about it!
Here she is, ready to go!
What a big girl!
A couple random pictures:
We planted a garden this year and Mads wanted to plant watermelon. We got the garden in late in the summer and didn't think that the watermelon would grow anything. When my mom was up she found two big watermelons growing in the garden! There were four more smaller watermelons growing, but they ended up becoming snacks for the neighborhood squirrels! :(
Look at these watermelons!
And, just a cute picture! My little man enjoying some food, probably his favorite activity! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
