So much fun!!

Since my last post we have been a busy family!!  It started on Sunday the 5th.  We had decided earlier this Spring that 2011 was going to be the year that we spruced up the outside of our house.  It started when we had the big pine tree taken down.  Once that beast was gone you could really see the "Big Red Wall" and it had to go!!  So, on Sunday we started the process of saying good bye to the BRW and we spent the day priming the wall.  Let me tell you, a wood wall that is barn red takes MANY coats of primer to get the red out!  Mads had a blast helping and she did a great job!

After we were done painting we went over to the Wasingers for a cook out on their deck.  It was a perfect evening for fun with friends!  Nathan and Violet had some quality time together.

Nathan shares a helicopter from the tree with Violet:

Nathan smiles,
Violet smiles...  can't get a good picture of them both smiling!  :)

We had watermelon for dessert.  Nathan was quite the fan!!

On Monday the 7th I had the day off.  That was the first day in the three day stretch of 90 degree weather.  I tried to get Mads to run through the sprinkler.  She still doesn't like the sprinkler, so she barely even got a drop of water on her!
Look how far away she is!
The only way she'd get near the sprinkler is when it was off!
Nathan watched from the sidelines.  Once he can walk I'm sure he'll be in the sprinkler showing Mads how to do it!
Mads did have fun playing hopscotch, though.  She asks everyday if she can "Hotscotch!"
Nathan was more interested in the mail than the hopscotch!

This past weekend was a fun one for Andrew and I.  We were able to spend Sunday at Six Flags in the Chicago area with Kim and Jake.  Mads and Nathan got to spend the day with Gramma J.  We had a great time riding roller coasters.  The temperature was perfect and the lines were short.  The longest we had to wait was about 25 minutes.  We were able to ride 17 roller coaster rides!  :)

We spent the night in Monroe on Sunday night.  Before we headed home on Monday morning we stopped by the Green County Highway Department so that Mads could see where Grandpa Jeff works!

She got to try out the drivers seat of the snow plow:

Have to wear your safety vest when on the job site!  Mads thought it was so cool to see the paver and how they make the road.

We got back up to Oshkosh around lunch time on Monday and decided to take the afternoon and head to the NEW Zoo in Green Bay with Grandma Mamie.

The Momma Lion was relaxing in the shade near the viewing window:
Two cute penguins!
The penguins were super active and really showing off!  Nathan loved it!
The best part of the day had to be seeing the giraffes.  They were near the observation deck and the kids were able to feed the giraffe.

Nathan thought the armadillo was pretty swell, too.

Photo op, my monkeys!
Too cute to be a monkey!

A few random pictures.

Mads playing with her babies in their makeshift highchairs!

On Friday we went to the mall.  Nathan wanted a snack and he was able to work the straw!!  I guess I would be pretty motivated to get an Orange Julius too!  :)

Nathan's first breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausages!

Thanks for stopping by!
