Labor Day Weekend

We spent most of Labor Day weekend in Milwaukee.  Andrew's good friend that he went to school with in LaCrosse got married and Andrew was in the wedding.  We left on Friday after we were both done with work.  Andrew had the Bachelor/Bachelorette Party to attend on Friday night so the kids and I were left to our own devices in the hotel room.  We did go and meet my friend from high school and his wife for dinner.  On the way back to the hotel from dinner the kiddos and I got some ice cream to take back to the room.  It's always a special treat to eat ice cream in bed!

Nathan's first stay in a hotel!!  Two tiny kiddos in a big bed!
Where's Nathan?

Mads hits the sack:

Saturday morning we hit the pool.  Mads had been talking about swimming since the moment we walked into the hotel, but I wasn't able to take her with Nathan by myself while Andrew was busy with wedding things.  She was so excited - we were in the pool by 8:00 Saturday morning!

Lounging beforehand:

This was Nathan's first time swimming.  He wasn't sure at first:
Then he decided that it was nothing like his usual baths and it definitely was not as warm!

The wedding was Saturday night.  It was held at a city park and it was so nice.  The weather was perfect, actually a touch chilly, in my opinion!!  After the ceremony and before the reception Mads had time to play on the playground.  She thought these drums were pretty neat:

Then after dinner she danced the night away!!

Mads must've had a great time on Saturday night because she slept in until almost 8:00 on Sunday morning!!  I don't think she's ever slept that late!  I took a picture of her sleeping at 7:51 to prove how late she slept! :)
After Mads finally woke up we took a quick dip in the pool.  Then we came back to our room and got ready to head to brunch with the newlyweds.  First we had to make some room service calls:

Mads was such a big helper all weekend.  She loved rolling her suitcase for us!

At brunch Mads tried some "tea" (there's nothing in the cup!)

After brunch we headed to Monroe.  We stayed over night Sunday night and had breakfast with the family before we headed back to Oshkosh on Monday.  The weekend was super busy but fun and Mads crashed again as soon as we got into the van.

What a great weekend!
