We busted out of Monroe around 2:30 on Friday, May 20th - headed for Minnesota to celebrate with Holly & Casey!

We made it to our hotel in River Falls right around supper time so we headed out to dinner. We found a tasty supper club that I wouldn't mind trying out again sometime! They even have an "Amelia Pizza" :)
After dinner we took a tour around town and showed the kids UW-River Falls - that's where Uncle Eric and Aunt Jill went to undergrad!
Saturday morning was pool time. The kids were having a blast swimming with their cuzzies, until Brantley got a bit chilly in the water. Then I got some snuggle time!
We headed out of River Falls before lunch on a mission to cross the St. Croix River and find the new home of the Minnesota Vikings!
Hmmm.. that sign still looks exactly the same as when I saw it in 1993.
Well, we found what can only be classified as a MONSTROSITY. Ladies and Gentlemen, US Bank Stadium:

Friends, we were on the SMALLEST side of this thing! Here's another angle:
Why is this stadium so HUGE? It's capacity is only 66,220!! (Compared to Lambeau's 81,435)

We did some more tourist drives - we went past Target Field, and then quickly left as there was a Twins game that day. We also went on search for the Cherry Spoon but found that the Minneapolis Sculpture Park is closed until 2017! BOO! (The website seems to show many very interesting pieces - we will have to try to go back!)
Then it was on to lunch! We found a Buffalo Wild Wings - but forgot that all 4 of us were still wearing our Packer shirts... We got seated in the booth in the corner next to the arcade games. Bummer. :(
Next up - Holly & Casey's Wedding! YAY!
It was an absolutely gorgeous day and the location was beautiful. We were on the rooftop of the Stillwater Public Library. Holly was a breathtaking bride and the vows they made were so filled with love. What a wonderful couple!
Michael was the ring bearer - after he walked down the aisle he may have had a few shenanigans to get out! ;)
We don't get dressed up too often - but I don't think we turned out too shabby!

Sunday was a day of travel - just like traveling home from Indianapolis, we didn't have a set plan.
We crossed over the Mississippi River at Red Wing, snagged a tasty coffee at Caribou Coffee, (wowza caffeine!) and traveled down the Minnesota side of the Mississippi on Highway 61.

As we were traveling down the highway we saw a sign for the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. We saw it, said "Sweet" and immediately turned down the road to see the Eagles!

Angel was hit by a car and is now flightless.
This eagle named Was'aka had an eye tumor that was removed, but has lost depth perception so his unable to fly or hunt for himself.
This is Donald, I believe. Also hit by a car and unable to fly.

We attended the live program and the kids were able to measure their wing spans. Nate was in the silver.

After we hit the highway south we saw a sign for Lark Toys. Time for another quick stop! :)

Whew! Another busy weekend of travel - but one that was so fun!! Lots of new adventures and a beautiful wedding for a wonderful couple! Congratulations Holly & Casey!
