We started celebrating my birthday this year a bit early with a trip to the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison on Saturday, April 27th. We met Gramma Jackie and Aunt Kimmy there to see the animals with us.
We started out at the flamingos and Mads was excited to show us that she could stand like a flamingo. Nate & I joined in!
Nate then caught a ride with Aunt Kimmy:
We found the polar bears and some little cute Nate & Mads polar bears as well!

After a stop for lunch we headed to the monkey area. Oh wait, we're already a family of monkeys! :)
We then watched the lion and tiger for a while hoping to hear their loud growls. The tiger was very noisy! Nate didn't want to leave!
After a little bit of time in the kids area we headed to the shore of Lake Wingra and enjoyed some birthday cupcakes. It was such a fabulous day - the weather was gorgeous and it was so nice to spend the day with the kids, Andrew, Gramma & Aunt Kimmy!
