We spent the past weekend at Christmas Mountain in the Dells for our annual family vacation with Grandpa Jeff, Grandma Marie, Auntie Sarah, Uncle Trevor and Cousins Gavin & Olivia.
We got to the resort around 7:45 on Friday evening, everyone else had gotten there earlier in the afternoon. They had gone swimming and had dinner before we arrived. We put on our jammies as soon as we got there and lounged around with the family.
Saturday morning started out with some breakfast followed by pool time!!
Mads and Nate played a little bit in the kiddie area first:
But it wasn't long before they were in the deeper pool having fun with their floaties on!
Walking together to the slide:
Nathan was big enough this year to go down the slide on his own. He still had someone at the bottom of the slide to assist with catching, if needed, but otherwise he was a big boy doing it all by himself!
Swimming with the aid of the floaties!
Mads was a pro at the slide. No help required for her!
Nathan had fun on the little froggy slide, too:
Mads snuck out to the outdoor hot tub with Daddy and Grandpa:
While Mads and the guys were in the toasty tub, Nathan played with the water fountains:
He had fun stepping on them to block the water and then moving his foot away and getting sprayed in all over!
Once the kids' lips turned purple it was time to head back to the cottage and squeak up in the giant whirlpool tub.
Bubbles galore! How fun!
Saturday evening we headed to dinner at Buffalo Phil's. We even sat in the train room and had our food delivered by the train. The conductor was the one and only Woody from Toy Story!
The crew lined up at the train bar!
Grandpa and Grandma! Thanks for a fun weekend! :)
No meal is complete without hats! Maddie's needed some adjusting!
All better!
Cousins with crazy hats!
Woody driving by with a bubble blower on board!
After dinner we headed next door to the Knuckleheads arcade.
Nathan's first move was to get on the motorcycle:
Mads tried out some Skeeball.
There was a whole train roller coaster in the arcade!
Nathan took a turn first:
Then it was Maddie's turn with Daddy:
Zipping by:
And a trip to the arcade isn't complete without a car race with Grandpa! Mads and Daddy teamed up first:
While Nathan and Grandpa made a good attempt to catch up!
Then they switched co-pilots!
Nathan was all about Whack-A-Shark! (That is until the squishy part of the hammer came flying off the handle!)
Nathan spun the Big Bass Wheel and landed on the jackpot! 100 tickets!
Mads helps count up the tickets. 450 tickets and we came home with 4 plastic snakes and 4 packs of 3 Pixie Stix.
The kids were bushed after a busy day!
Sunday morning was pancake day with Andrew making shaped pancakes. He made a bat, heart, and snow plow among other things! :)
We had a fabulous time and look forward to next year when there is another grandkid in the mix! :)
