Santa, Take Two & COOKIES!

On Sunday, December 4th, we were fortunate enough to get a second chance to have pictures taken with Santa.  We were invited to go to Breakfast With Santa at Most Precious Blood Elementary School in New London, which is where Claire and Nick go to school.  Claire & Nick weren't there, as they were on vacation at Disney, but Grandma Mamie was at the school helping out in the kitchen.  There wasn't much of a line to see Santa when we got there so we went right over.

When the kids got up to see Santa, Santa had a sing-a-long with all of the kiddos.  Santa gave Nathan the jingle bells to jingle while they sang!

Mads made sure that Nathan knew how to jingle the bells!
Singing "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"

It was finally time for Mads to talk to Santa again and remind him of what she would like for Christmas!
Nathan wasn't sure of the big guy again, he kept watch while still holding on to the bells!
 Cheese!
Nathan did warm up enough to get on Santa's lap, but not warm enough to smile!  :)

After the kids were done talking with Santa they were able to decorate a cookie.  Mads did a good job with her sprinkles while Nathan just ate his cookie!
He did find a friend, though, and wanted to share his cookie with her!

Today we had a super fun afternoon of baking cookies.  The kids and I started with Melting Moments while Andrew started on making the dough for the cut-out cookies.

Preparing our ingredients
 Happy bakers!  :)
Mads helped Nathan stir our ingredients together.
Mads left the melting moments momentarily to help Dad stir the cut-out dough:
 SQUISH IT!
Mads was quickly back to our cookies and she rolled the moments like a pro!

Look at that little Maddie-sized cookie!
 Ready for the oven!
 Nathan wanted to help too!
Nathan was a big helper when it came to cleaning up as well.  He was on dishwasher patrol for the afternoon!

While poor Nate was busy helping clean up Mads and Dad got into a flour fight! :)

Back to work, Mads helped to roll the cut-out dough.
 And cut the cookies!
Nathan was getting into shenanigans with a box that he found! :)
Once the cookies were baked it was time to frost!!  We started with the Melting Moments
 Mads did a great job!
Then we moved on to the cut-outs.   Mads was amazing..  she did such a great job with the frosting and the sprinkles!
 Hard at work!
Finishing up the cut-outs.  Nathan kept coming up to the table and saying "COOKIE!  COOKIE!"  Poor dude just wanted to eat them!
Our finished products!  Gingerbread men & women, cut-outs and Melting Moments!  YUM!

Thanks for stopping by!  :)
